Clemson University's Department of Plant Industry Joins SCBOS
|
(May 2008)—South Carolina Business One Stop (SCBOS) is pleased to announce that Clemson University’s Department of Plant Industry (DPI) has joined the agency as a strategic partner.
SC businesses that are involved in the production, distribution, and sale of fertilizer and liming materials are subject to the SC Fertilizer Law and SC Agricultural Liming Materials Act. Therefore, they must obtain specialized permits from DPI. These businesses can now apply for these permits and pay any applicable fees online through SCBOS.
“We at DPI are pleased with our collaboration with SCBOS,” said Kyle Stephens, Assistant Department Head of DPI. “This application lays the groundwork for future online capabilities. For our business consumers who prefer the convenience of online applications, this is now an option.”
DPI is a department of Clemson University’s Regulatory and Public Service Program. It administers a fertilizer inspection program and also issues the permits for fertilizers and liming materials. For more information on DPI, please visit http://dpi.clemson.edu.
